Freshness and quality are always in season at the Market at DelVal. Our Produce Department is a feast for the senses! You’ll find the freshest crisp vegetables and succulent fruits. We carry a great variety of top quality produce. Our produce managers work with local growers and suppliers to ensure our fruits and veggies are at the peak of freshness every single day. They hand select the produce that goes on our shelves, and do quality checks throughout the day. When in season, we also carry locally grown produce and produce grown right here at DelVal—picked and delivered to our Market daily, when it is perfectly ripe and ready to be eaten. LOCALLY GROWN Enjoy our crops of locally grown fruits and veggies when they are in season—generally from April to November. The state of Pennsylvania considers locally grown produce anything that is grown within 300 miles of the PA border. That could mean 300 miles past Pittsburgh to you and me. Locally grown at DelVal means fruits and veggies grown 500 feet away, picked daily at the peak of freshness and delivered straight to our shelves. We invite you to come enjoy a meal at The Market or take something yummy with you! We have a full service Deli ready to make a delicious sandwich, or slice the highest quality meats and cheeses for you to take home. We also have professional chef, Dave Mergen from Just Foods, in The Kitchen creating delicious re-heatable meals to take home and eat for dinner. An excellent alternative to take-out when you’re too busy to cook! Our chefs use only the finest and freshest ingredients. We’ve been making our own super premium, hand-dipped ice cream at Shady Brook Farm since 2007, using only the highest grade milk and other delectable ingredients to ensure that our hand-dipped, super premium ice cream satisfies even the most discerning palates.
